A reminder to grade 12 students that the $60 graduation fee is due at the main office by Friday, June 3rd. Tickets will be issued at this time and we will also take requests for additional tickets.
There will be a prom committee meeting today at quiet bell in room 202.
Avon View's annual Car show will be held this Friday, May 27th. Anyone wishing to participate in the show needs to see Ms. Chance in room 204 to register, any time before Friday.
The weather is predicted to be good and there will be tone of fun and prizes. Get your ride shined up and come out and show it off.
Nova Scotia Ambassadors Training Camp
The Nova Scotia International Student Program will be offering their annual training camp this year in Truro from August 26 to August 29, 2016. This camp is offered free of charge to a grade 10 or 11 student from each high school in the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board. Interested students from grade 10 or 11 are asked to come to Student Services and pick up an information package and application form and return the application form to Student Services NO LATER than WEDNESDAY, MAY 25. One student will be picked from Avonview to attend this camp.
Inspire - Post Secondary Scholarship Opportunities for Indigenous High School Students

Holland College - Atlantic Police Academy Information Session
Atlantic Police Academy is holding an information session on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Marriott (former Delta), 1990 Barrington Street, Halifax, from 6 to 9 pm. A representative from the Atlantic Police Academy will be pleased to answer any questions about the following programs: Basic Firefighting, Conservation Enforcement, Correctional Officer, Police Science (cadet) and Sheriff and Public Safety Officer.
The weather is getting warm, so why not cool down at lunch with a jumbo Mr Freezie? Avon View's WE Act group will be selling freezies on Tuesday's and Friday's at the beginning of lunch, starting today while supplies last.
Stage Band will rehearse today at the beginning of lunch in the Band Room.
Mr. Woundy’s Grade 11 music class and conflict students are reminded of their rehearsal on Wednesday 3rd period.
Any students who were involved in Footloose and are interested in the possibility of purchasing a sweatshirt please see Mrs. MacMillan TODAY in room 104.
I would like to congratulate the Track and Field team on their superb performance at the District Track and Field meet this past weekend at Acadia University setting 2 new district meet records! Noah James won the Intermediate boys 100 meter hurdles and set a new district record, our Intermediate boys’ 4 by 100 meter relay team consisting of Caleb Hamilton, Justin MacDonald, Noah James and Tyler Eddy also won 1st place and set a new district record. Other athletes who achieved first place finishes were Natalie Rippey who won both the senior girls long jump and the senior girls triple jump and Ryan Hebb who won the senior boys long jump. We have 15 athletes going on to represent Avon View at the Western Region Track and Field Championships at Acadia this weekend. Good luck to all of our athletes!
There will be a meeting for all track and field athletes today at 11:05am in room 105 and there will be a track practice at Acadia after school today at 4:30 pm.
